In a significant move for the rising sport of Pickleball in Jammu & Kashmir, the official jersey of the J&K Pickleball Team launched today by Satish Sharma, Minister for Youth Services & Sports, ahead of the IPA Pickleball Nationals 2025. This prestigious event is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru.
Minister Sharma extended his best wishes to the athletes who will represent the Union Territory. He voiced pride in J&K’s increasing youth participation in emerging sports disciplines. He commended the J&K Pickleball Association for its dedicated efforts in promoting the sport across various districts and cultivating a robust sporting culture.
“The rise of Pickleball in Jammu & Kashmir reflects our youth’s enthusiasm for embracing new avenues of sports and fitness. The Government remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles, talent recognition, and sporting excellence,” the Minister stated.
The launch of the jersey strengthens the sports ecosystem in J&K, marking a critical step toward enhancing sports infrastructure and opportunities for young athletes. This event also aligns with the government’s broader vision to position J&K as a hub of sporting excellence.
Furthermore, the Jammu & Kashmir Pickleball Association has significantly contributed to popularising Pickleball in the region. It has established dedicated venues, organised tournaments, and encouraged participation from players of all ages and backgrounds, driving the sport’s growth in local communities.
