Multipurpose indoor sports hall inaugurated in Khour by Satish Sharma

In a significant initiative for sports development in Jammu and Kashmir, Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, inaugurated a state-of-the-art multipurpose indoor sports hall in Khour on Monday. This facility aims to enhance sports infrastructure in the border regions of the Union Territory, focusing on fostering a robust sports culture among the youth.

During the inauguration, Satish Sharma highlighted the government’s commitment to providing modern and inclusive sports facilities. He emphasized that the initiative specifically targets rural and border areas, aiming to promote discipline and a healthy lifestyle.

“Quality sports infrastructure at the grassroots level plays a crucial role in identifying, nurturing and grooming sporting talent,” Sharma stated. “Our goal is to ensure that talented youth find ample opportunities without being hindered by a lack of facilities.”

The newly inaugurated indoor hall stands out with its ability to host various sports disciplines under one roof. It boasts three badminton courts, six table tennis courts, a volleyball court, along with two judo courts, and facilities for wrestling and kabaddi. This comprehensive training environment is set to invigorate local athletes.

Engaging directly with local youth and sportspersons, Sharma encouraged them to utilize the new facility to its fullest potential. He reiterated the government’s promise to prioritize the development of sports infrastructure, youth engagement, and talent promotion throughout Jammu and Kashmir.

The inauguration marks a pivotal moment for Khour and neighboring regions, as it lays the groundwork for enhanced sporting activities. Young athletes can now enjoy access to modern, world-class facilities just a stone’s throw from their homes.

As the government ramps up efforts in sports development, initiatives like the Khour indoor sports hall reflect a broader vision of investing in the region’s youth. This facility not only strengthens local sports but also aims to build a more active, health-conscious future generation.
